Mindfulness and Meditation

Although meditation has been practised for centuries and believed to have significant impact on our thinking and wellbeing, it is only more recently that there is scientific proof of its benefits. Brain scans and trials have been undertaken and there is now overwhelming evidence to show how meditation alters the brain waves of individuals. It is recognised that the adult brain is capable neuroplasticity- the forming of new cells and pathways. Meditation can change the psychological pathways in our brain bringing about positive changes in in our health, behaviour and mood. Meditation can be a great source of wellness and create a calmer way of being in what can be a chaotic modern life. Gower Wellbeing provide workshops that teach the techniques of meditation and improve our ability to overcome stress that can overwhelm our balanced equilibrium. We teach a wide a number of techniques that improve breathing, increase awareness and allow the body and mind to re-connect.
